HALIFAX, Nova Scotia – On Saturday at 3:15PM AST, U.S. Senators Jim Risch (R-Idaho), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations Committees, will lead the bipartisan Senate delegation to the Halifax International Security Forum in a press conference. The lawmakers will address the national and global security challenges being discussed among hundreds of leaders from around the world at the international conference. Throughout the forum, lawmakers are leading and participating in plenaries on U.S. leadership and coordination with allies to address numerous security challenges, including the climate crisis, the fall of Afghanistan, an emboldened China, and global issues around women, peace, and security.
Risch and Shaheen will be joined by U.S. Senators Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Chris Coons (D-Del.), Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), and Joni Ernst (R-Iowa).
