Risch Statement on Committee Passage of Trump Nominees

WASHINGTON- U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued the following statement after members approved the nomination of Thomas Barrack for ambassador to Turkey, Tilman Fertitta for ambassador to Italy, David Perdue for ambassador to China, Warren Stephens for ambassador to the UK, and Monica Crowley to be Chief of Protocol during a committee business meeting.

“I’m very glad to have joined my colleagues to approve these nominees to some of our most important postings around the world. As President Trump works to bring peace to a turbulent world, I know these nominees will be the heavy hitters this administration needs to ensure American interests are protected abroad. I look forward to these nominations moving to the Senate floor where I hope my colleagues on both sides of the aisle will vote to confirm these nominees.”
