WASHINGTON – Next month, U.S. Senators Jim Risch (R-Idaho), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations Committees, will lead a bipartisan congressional delegation to participate in the 14th annual Halifax International Security Forum. Risch and Shaheen will be joined by Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), Chris Coons (D-Del.), and Tim Kaine (D-Va.), as well as hundreds of national security leaders from around the world to discuss strategic cooperation on common global security goals.
Lawmakers will participate in conversations on U.S. leadership and coordination with allies to address Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and an emboldened China.
“The annual Halifax International Security Forum provides an important opportunity for leaders from like-minded democracies in Europe, the Indo-Pacific, and Canada to have honest conversations and find common sense solutions to today’s biggest challenges.
