WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today released the following statement on the announcement of a permanent headquarters for the U.S. Army’s V Corps in Poland:
“I’m pleased to hear that the United States will establish a permanent headquarters for the Army’s V Corps in Poland. We have had a strong presence in Poland for quite some time, and this commitment to a permanent presence is the right move. As members of NATO, we commit to defend every square inch of NATO territory, and our ability to defend our freedoms is greatly improved with this decision. I discussed this potential development in my meetings last week in Warsaw, and I know it is good news for our Polish allies who are incredibly generous and committed to the cause.”
