WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today released the statement below regarding President Trump’s Executive Order to sanction the International Criminal Court (ICC) for their issuance of arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister.
“This is tremendous news. The ICC’s arrest warrants were obviously politically motivated and a clear violation of Israeli sovereignty. This flagrant antisemitism and lack of respect for the rule of law in Israel cannot go unchecked. With this Executive Order, President Trump has made clear to the ICC that any violation of America’s sovereignty or that of our allies will have consequences. I look forward to working with the President and his administration to continue stamping out corruption and antisemitism across international organizations.”
