Risch Meets with Secretary of State Nominee Marco Rubio

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today released the following statement after meeting with U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, nominee to be secretary of State for the incoming Trump Administration:

“Senator Rubio is the right person to lead the State Department. I’ve served alongside Marco on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee since he came to the Senate and know firsthand how qualified he is for the role. America voted for strong, decisive leadership and they will get that with Marco serving as our top diplomat. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure he is in place on day one of the next administration.”
