WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today released the following statement on Senator Cardin’s assumption of the role of chairman:
“I look forward to working more closely with my friend, Ben Cardin, as he takes on the role of chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The committee will continue to do important work to ensure our national security priorities are addressed, including countering an increasingly confrontational China, combatting Russia’s aggression, pushing back on Iran’s malign influence, and holding accountable human rights abusers around the world. There’s a lot to do, I look forward to getting to work quickly.”
