Corker Statement on Nikki Haley Resignation

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today released the following statement on the resignation of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.

“Nikki Haley has been a fierce advocate for U.S. interests during her time as U.N. ambassador,” said Corker. “While I hated to hear of her departure, I have enjoyed working with her and am thankful for her willingness to serve. I know Nikki will continue to be a strong voice for our country and wish her well in whatever comes next.”

As chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Corker shepherded Haley through the Senate confirmation process and has worked closely with her during her tenure at the United Nations. Haley was confirmed by the Senate by a vote of 96 to 4 in January 2017.
