Corker: Congress, Administration Stand United Against Rogue North Korean Regime

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today said legislation unanimously approved by the committee would support a comprehensive U.S. approach for dealing with the threat from North Korea. The committee sent amended versions of the North Korean Human Rights Reauthorization Act of 2017 and the LEED (Leverage to Enhance Effective Diplomacy) Act of 2017 to the full Senate for consideration.

“The committee’s action today shows that Congress and the administration stand united against the rogue North Korean regime,” said Corker. “These bills support a comprehensive U.S. approach and will help the administration address the most acute threat to global security at this time. I appreciate the work of the bill sponsors and am hopeful the full Senate will approve these measures in the near future.”
