WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) and Jim Risch (R-Idaho), ranking member and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, welcomed Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz MK of Israel to the U.S. Capitol.
“It was a pleasure to welcome Foreign Minister Katz to the U.S. Capitol. I greatly appreciated the opportunity to engage in frank and open dialogue about challenges facing the region as well as the United States’ unwavering and bipartisan support for the state of Israel,” said Ranking Member Menendez. “As I told Foreign Minister Katz, we share common interest and common values, and the partnership between our people and our nations must remain as strong as ever at a time of increased uncertainty in the Middle East.”
"I was glad to have the opportunity to sit down with Foreign Minister Yisrael today to discuss the very special U.S.-Israel relationship," said Chairman Risch. "We reaffirmed our shared views on the continued threats posed by Iran. There is a strong and enduring bond between the U.S. and Israel and we welcome their collaboration, as always."
