TODAY: Shaheen to Speak on Senate Floor to Condemn Trump Administration’s Reckless Actions at USAID, Warns of Impact to National Security

WASHINGTON Today, Thursday, February 6th, at approximately 12:15 PM ET, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, will head to the Senate floor to speak about the damaging and reckless actions against the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the threat these actions pose to U.S. national security and economic stability. During her remarks, the Senator will also join her Democratic colleagues to oppose the confirmation of Office of Management and Budget nominee, Russell Vought, over the Trump Administration decision to halt federal funding for grants and loans, which is creating uncertainty and chaos for services Americans rely on.
