TODAY: Members of Congress to Brief Media on Bicameral Delegation to South and Central America, Meetings with Guatemala President Arévalo and Argentina President Milei

WASHINGTON - Today, on Tuesday, July 23, at 2:00pm ET, members of Congress, led by U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Chair Ben Cardin (D-Md.), will brief the press on their visits to Brazil, Argentina, and Guatemala, as well as give a read out of their visits with Guatemalan President Arévalo and Argentine President Milei.

The congressional delegation met with key government officials across the region to express support for bilateral partnerships, as well as to better understand areas of potential increased cooperation. During their trip, delegation members held meetings to gain insight into the full scope of diplomatic and security cooperation on countering Antisemitism, combatting climate change, and protecting indigenous communities. They also participated in the 30th anniversary commemoration of the terrorist attack on the AMIA (Argentine Israelite Mutual Association) Jewish Center in Argentina.
